It was a whirlwind week filled with product announcements, partner events, and deep ecosystem insight. Despite the gloomy weather, spirits were high as we soaked in the latest from Shopify and connected as a team - many of us meeting in person for the first time this year.
Toronto brought together clearer.io team members from Sydney, Tel Aviv, the UK, Vietnam, South Carolina, and the US West Coast - all united by a shared goal: to deepen our understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and bring insights back to accelerate our product roadmap.
Horizons 2025 delivered Shopify’s most forward-looking vision yet - and we were there to see how that future can help us build better tools for merchants.
Shopify’s Sidekick assistant got a major upgrade with multi-step reasoning, multilingual voice interactions, and screen sharing. This reaffirms what we’ve been building toward at clearer.io: AI that doesn’t just react, but truly anticipates merchant needs. Expect Sidekick-like features baked into our upcoming workflows to help simplify complex merchandising decisions.
The new AI-powered theme editor points to a future where storefronts are shaped by intent, not just code. At clearer.io, we’ve long believed that merchants should be empowered to create product experiences without developer dependency. We’re doubling down on tools that integrate seamlessly with Shopify’s theme evolution to do just that.
The introduction of Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers changes the game. For clearer.io, this unlocks smarter, real-time merchandising logic - from product bundling to upsell flows - all personalized at the edge. Our Q4 product launch is already aligned with this shift.
With Shopify expanding Markets and making cross-border selling more manageable, we’re working to ensure clearer.io supports localized product storytelling at scale. Our focus: giving global merchants the same control over merchandising logic as their domestic counterparts.
One of the hottest stands at Editions was the AI Opportunities showcase within the Shopify App Marketplace. Crowds gathered, cameras rolled, and the buzz was undeniable. The exhibit spotlighted how developers can harness AI to solve real merchant problems - from intelligent merchandising to dynamic storefront personalization.
The clearer.io team took inspiration from this energy, identifying multiple areas where AI-first capabilities align directly with our roadmap. The message was clear: the future of commerce is intelligent, and it’s being built right now.
What really made the week special were the people. We kicked off at Techtonic on Tuesday, connecting with app developers, agency leaders, and Shopify veterans. On Wednesday, we hosted an intimate partner meetup at SohoHouse Toronto, where great conversations flowed over food and drinks.
Thursday night’s Partner event, which we proudly sponsored, was the standout of the week: over 300 attendees filled the room, with 500+ more on the waitlist. The energy and momentum were palpable.
In between, we participated in roundtables, toured Shopify HQ, demoed new features, and left inspired by the ambition of the Shopify ecosystem.
Our time in Toronto left us with a wealth of insights, stronger relationships, and a renewed sense of direction. We’ve already begun translating those learnings into our product roadmaps and we’re even more excited about what’s ahead.
The advancements in Shopify’s developer platform, especially MCP Servers and Sidekick - are directly influencing how we shape the clearer.io experience. These ideas are already helping us build a smarter, more adaptive platform for merchants everywhere.
